Uchepo with bottlebrush honey, vanilla chantilly and fermented salted strawberries. For months, the strawberry-dusted buñuelo was a highlight of Maíz's dessert menu. It was visually striking - it looked like a giant flower-shaped pretzel - and it was powered by childhood memories and the buñuelo's joyful association with Christmas.

The space that Maiz is located at used to be Camden Villa cafe. There's a high balcony eating area and a courtyard as well as an inside area. Two of us had the set menu and everything was absolutely delicious, this was my introduction to authentic Mexican food and was blown away by the different flavours and spices. Service was great! Food was fresh and fast. We were in town for a horse show and there were other equestrians there as well. Not that familiar with Columbus nut this was working the visit. Comfortable tables not too cramped. A little loud but most Mexican restaurants are. Hubby had trio fajitas. It was enough for a trio of people and great taste.
